MASSENA, N.Y. – While he didn’t reach his goal of putting 100 pounds of scorable smallmouth on SCORETRACKER®, John Cox is off to a strong start at the General Tire Stage Five Presented by Berkley. He’s leading Group B with 99 pounds, 1 ounce, more than 15 pounds ahead of second-place Dustin Connell. If Cox is able to able to hold onto his lead when Group B returns to the St. Lawrence River on Monday for Qualifying Day 2, he’ll skip the Knockout Round and automatically advance to the Championship Round.
