PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – It was a battle of the bass species today at the Toyota Stage Six Presented by Googan Baits on Lake Champlain. Anglers targeting largemouth rocketed to the top of SCORETRACKER® early, but the smallmouth specialists held their own, despite slick water conditions.

Justin Lucas captured Group B’s top spot and an automatic ticket to the Championship Round. His steady smallmouth bite beat out Brandon Coulter’s all-day largemouth flurry by a mere 9 ounces.

Check out which bass was best, and don’t forget to tune in to the MLF NOW! live stream 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET daily through August 10.
