MLF Anglers Make History During Shotgun Round 1 of Stage Seven

June 1, 2019 • Bass Pro Tour

For the first time ever, anglers started their competition at noon CT to kick off Shotgun Round 1 of the Bad Boy Mowers Stage Seven Presented by Covercraft. By the time the round was over at 8 p.m., two anglers had caught more than 100 pounds of bass: Jacob Wheeler (129 pounds, 14 ounces) and Shin Fukae (112 pounds, 4 ounces). Wheeler now holds the MLF record for highest weight caught in a single day of competition, and the most scoreable bass caught in one round of competition.

We spoke with some of the top-performing anglers in Group A after they got off Table Rock Lake on Friday to see what they had to say about the late start, and what they believe it will take to make it to the Knockout Round.
