SENECA, S.C. – Moving up the leaderboard from second to the top spot, Emil Wagner sacked up 20 pounds, 2 ounces for a two-day total of 38-4. Now, the young Georgia angler is leading the Phoenix Bass Fishing League Presented by T-H Marine All-American going into the final day. Though his home pond is Lake Lanier, Wagner is no stranger to Lake Hartwell, and his savvy when it comes to offshore bass looking to chomp some blueback herring has been on full display so far.
In second, Matthew O’Connell also caught more than 20 pounds, tallying 20-4 on the day for a 37-8 total, which put him just 12 ounces off the lead. In third, Buddy Benson dropped from the lead with only 15-7 on Day 2. In the lead on the Strike King co-angler side, Keith Gunsauls has caught back-to-back limits and has a 19-7 total so far.
