LAKE FORK, Texas – Saturday was another exciting day at the General Tire Stage Three Presented by TrueTimber from Lake Fork, Texas. While the weights dropped over the previous two days, the big bass are still making their way to SCORETRACKER® in bunches.
While no 10-pounders appeared, there were still some quality fish pulled in. Those who were watching on MLF NOW! witnessed nine 6-pound fish, six 7-pounders, four 8s, and another 9-pounder.
But, things are changing on Lake Fork, and there are a few conditions to watch for as Group B returns to Fork.
Will someone else hit the 100-pound mark? What weight will serve as the Elimination Line and what anglers are going to make their move into the Top 20?
In Group A, Mark Daniels, Jr, and Jeff Sprague hit the 100-pound mark. Will someone in Group B make a run at the “Century Club” today?
Both Daniels and Sprague reached that magic number largely based on their strong first-day performances.
Daniels came into Day 3 with nearly 85 pounds, and Sprague had 72-12. The leader in Group B is Michael Neal with 57 pounds. Two other anglers (Brandon Coulter and Justin Atkins) are more than halfway to a hundred pounds.
Will someone else join MDJ and Sprague at 100 plus?
After one day of fishing for each group, the 20th-place weight for each group was drastically different.
Bradley Roy held down that position with 40-11 ounces for Group A, and in Group B, it was Anthony Gagliardi with 27-13.
That cutline ended up being Aaron Martens with 69 pounds for Group A, so what will it be for Group B?
It will likely be much less, but you never know what is going to happen on Lake Fork.
Group A swapped three anglers in the Top 20 between the first two Elimination Rounds. Josh Bertrand, Luke Clausen, and Terry Scroggins bumped James Elam, Bradley Roy, and Brett Hite from the Top 20 and sent them home.
The thing to watch on Monday is who is going to make a move, and who will falter. Overall, the weights are tight for both groups.
Thirty-third place in Group B is Marty Robinson with 17-5. He sits 10-8 behind Gagliardi in 20th.
Coincidentally, that’s the exact weight of Justin Atkins’ MLF record big bass he caught on Saturday. With that being said, the anglers in 21st to 33rd are really just a swing of the rod from jumping above the Elimination Line.
On Lake Fork, lunker bass can happen at any time, and nobody is out of contention at this point. So, who’s going to make a move today?
