CONROE, Texas – It’s the biggest cut day of the MLF Bass Pro Tour Huk Stage Two presented by Favorite Fishing: the Knockout Round will reduce the field from 40 to 10 on Lake Conroe. Here’s what’s happening on the water:

1:53 p.m. CT – It’s about as close as it can be. Only 5 pounds separates 2nd place from 13th place and one scoreable bass could make all the difference for these anglers. Shin Fukae is in 10th as of now, but Matt Lee and David Walker are a scoreable fish away from knocking him out of that position. With only about an hour and a half to go, anything can happen.

12:46 p.m. CT – Lines are out after two periods and Boyd Duckett is holding steady at the top of the SCORETRACKER at 31-10. The spot right above the Elimination Line is held by Mark Rose (15-15) but there are five anglers within 1 pound of catching him. Over the final two and a half hours watch for there to be multiple moves made around the Elimination Line with the drama likely coming down to the final few minutes.

11:12 a.m. CT – Keep your eye on David Walker. The Tennessee pro is fishing on the far upper end of the lake, and has stayed consistently in the Top 5 of his competition rounds. Kelly Jordon just dropped by the MLF Situation Room to watch the MLF NOW! live stream, and observed that the area that Walker is fishing is a potential bonanza if water temperatures creep up just a couple of degrees.

11:01 a.m. CT – The biggest surprise of the day so far is Boyd Duckett. The Alabama pro has started to figure Lake Conroe out with 13 fish for 24-6 on the day. Duckett is 2-11 up on Edwin Evers. Down near the Elimination Line, Keith Poche holds the final spot in the Top 10. Poche leads Todd Faircloth, Jason Christie, Justin Atkins and Randall Tharp by less than 2 pounds.

9:20 a.m. CT – Edwin Evers is on ’em: the Oklahoma pro has already put eight fish on SCORETRACKER for 16 pounds, 14 ounces, but David Walker (13-15) and Jordan Lee (12-14) are right behind him. Lee put the morning’s biggest fish on the scales (a 6-9) just a few minutes ago, and there are already four 4-pounders on the board.

It’s a lot colder and windier than forecast, and there’s a slight chance of rain later in the morning.
