Premium rod builder Denali Rods has agreed to terms with professional angler Charlie Evans of Gilbertsville, Ky. Evans is best known for his more than six years as the president and CEO of FLW Outdoors and thirty years with FLW in total.

Since stepping down from his FLW position in August of 2010 Evans has returned to fishing. In 2011, Evans fished as a co-angler and finished the year ranked ninth in the co-angler of the Year standings. Evans qualified for the Forrest Wood Cup and finished 25th at Lake Ouachita. Evans plans to move to the front of the boat for the 2012 FLW Tour season and states, “I am excited and to be honest a little bit nervous as well.”

While moving to the front of the boat has Evans a little bit nervous, he’s not at all nervous with his decision to partner with Denali Rods. “If I am going to fish for a living, I have got to have the right tools. Denali Rods are lightweight, sensitive and powerful all at the same time and that’s why I decided to go with Denali.”

Denali Rods is equally as excited to work with Evans. “Charlie Evans could partner with any rod company he wants. He’s been a major part of this industry for a long time and for him to want to use our rods really means we are doing the right thing. We’ve got a lot of great anglers on our team and Charlie will fit in great.”
