Top-10 cut to be announced after today’s weigh-in

HENDERSON, Nev. – With 198 anglers sent packing after yesterday’s competition, the remaining top-20 pros and co-anglers hit the open waters of Lake Mead shortly after 7 a.m. in a bid to qualify for Saturday’s all-important final day of competition. Under gorgeous blue skies and a brilliant sunrise, anglers departed Callville Bay Resort marina with their tournament weights reset to zero – meaning a level playing field for today’s competition.

In short, it’s anyone’s game. However, the task of qualifying for today’s top-10 cut will not be easy. With Lake Mead doling out fish as readily as a miserly old man would hand out gold coins, anglers will have to work overtime to land anything close to a five-fish stringer. But for those who prevail, the rewards should be worth the effort. With the top prize in the Pro Division coming in at approximately $60,000 – assuming various incentives are met – and $25,000 respectively in the Co-angler Division, anglers undoubtedly will put forward a spirited performance in today’s competition.

Currently, Mike Folkestad of Yorba Linda, Calif., is the top qualifier in the Pro Division while Ron Chambers of Phoenix, Ariz., shares similar honors in the Co-angler Division.

Anglers who turn in the top-10 stringers in each division in today’s competition will advance to the finals, where their weights will again be reset to zero.

EverStart action continues at today’s weigh-in, scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. at the Callville Bay Resort marina, located at 100 Callville Marina Road, Las Vegas, Nev.
