John Acosta

John joins Major League Fishing as Vice President of Marketing & Business Development, where he oversees brand building and strategic partnerships to elevate all Major League Fishing platforms.

Prior to joining Major League Fishing, he served as a Director of Marketing for Bass Pro Shops for over 12 years. In that role, he was responsible for all broad-reach marketing initiatives (media, sports, entertainment, partnerships, sponsorships, brand marketing, & content), helping to elevate the national profile of the Bass Pro Shops brand as it became the industry-leading outdoor retailer.

Earlier in his career, John spent time in various leadership positions at ad agencies in Chicago, Los Angeles, Newport Beach, Boston, and Springfield. His past client experience includes McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, M&M/Mars, Northrop Grumman, Oral-B, Unilever, Nestle Foods, Tyson Foods, & New Business Development.

John graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is originally from the Chicago area. He spends his free time with his tennis-crazy family, which includes his wife Lisa and their seven children (Tyler, Evan, Amanda, Autumn, Carson, Cameron, & Gianna).
