ERIE, Penn. – When action starts in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, Aug. 25 – the first day of the B&W Trailer Hitches Challenge Cup Presented by Toyota – it will mark a unique day in professional bass fishing. For the first time ever, eight anglers from the 2024 Bass Pro Tour will compete as four two-man teams in a livestreamed event.
Nick LeBrun and Gerald Spohrer (Team Ferguson), Cole Floyd and Andy Morgan (Team REDCON1), Drew Gill and Matt Stefan (Team COIGN) and Ron Nelson and Keith Carson (Team WIX Filters) will compete for three periods in MLF’s “every fish counts,” catch/weigh/release format in Elimination Round 1. Over the next two days, eight more two-man teams will battle it out to secure one of six spots in the two-day Knockout Rounds, and then continue pushing to the four-team Championship Round and, eventually, the title of Challenge Cup 2024 champs.
The competition structure is straightforward and easy to follow: Teams must finish in the top two in Elimination matches to advance, and the top two teams in each Knockout Round match will make it to the Championship. Weights are zeroed after each day, so each match is a single-day competition.
Livestreamed coverage of the B&W Trailer Hitches Challenge Cup Presented by Toyota is scheduled to run from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET on Aug. 25. The MLFNOW! livestream can be seen at MajorLeagueFishing.com, on the MLF app, at MyOutdoorTV and on the Rumble platform.
