GALLERY: General Tire Team Series Bass Pro Shops Championship showcases Lake County, Florida

CLERMONT, Fla. – The first-ever General Tire Team Series season culminates with the Bass Pro Shops Championship Presented by B&W Trailer Hitches, which takes place on bodies of water in Lake County, Florida. The format is relatively simple: There are three two-day matches, with three teams competing in each match. The winning team of each match earns a spot in the Championship Round, a one-day shootout for the title and a $300,000 payday.

Match 1 of the Team Series Championship featured Team Builders FirstSource (Jeff Sprague, Randall Tharp and Cliff Crochet), Team Star brite (Skeet Reese, Jeremy Lawyer and Shaw Grigsby) and Team Ferguson (Jonathon VanDam, Brent Chapman and James Elam). Day 1 of Match 1 took place on Lake Minneola, although the MLF pros had no idea where they’d be competing until they showed up at the boat ramp early that morning. At the end of the day, Team Builders FirstSource found themselves on top of SCORETRACKER®, catching 25 scorable bass that totaled 42 pounds, 10 ounces. They have a 12-pound lead going into Day 2, and if they can win this match, Sprague, Tharp and Crochet will compete in the Championship Round.
