GALLERY: Team Crockett Creek puts on a show to kick off MLF’s newest TV series

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. – Before the start of the Lucas Oil Qualifier Presented by B&W Trailer Hitches, most of the competitors admitted that there was one group to beat: Team Crockett Creek, led by back-to-back Bally Bet Angler of the Year Jacob Wheeler. Wheeler chose Jason Lambert and Dylan Hays to round out his team, and when they hit Lake Le Homme Dieu to kick off the inaugural General Tire Team Series, they wasted no time while rocketing to the top of SCORETRACKER®.

While Wheeler is often considered one of the hottest pros on the planet, it was Lambert who stole the spotlight, catching 76 pounds, 2 ounces of scorable bass on the first day of competition. Wheeler added 55-8 to the team’s total, and Hays’ 42-4 gave them a total of 90 fish for 173-14.

The three teams competing in Match 1 of the Lucas Oil Qualifier will return to Lake Le Homme Dieu for their second day of competition. The weights from Day 1 will carry over, and the team with the most weight at the end of Day 2 will advance to the General Tire Team Series Championship.
