Conseco Fishing Challenge winners announced

Sign-ups continue for next FLW fantasy-fishing contest on Lake Ouachita

The final results are official, and FLWOutdoors.com would like to congratulate the winners of the second Conseco Fishing Challenge and thank everyone who took the time to participate in the Lake Wheeler contest. While no contestant was able to guess exactly the top six anglers in last week’s FLW competition and walk away with $1 million, the top 25 participants did manage to win over $5,500 in prizes, including an all-expenses paid fishing trip for two as well as a wide variety of merchandise from Conseco sponsors.

The $1 million winning pro angler combination in the latest Conseco Fishing Challenge – which took place Feb. 13-16 on Lake Wheeler near Florence, Ala. – fell together as follows:

1) Larry Nixon, Bee Branch, Ark.
2) Aaron Martens, Castaic, Calif.
3) Alton Jones, Waco, Texas
4) Scott Martin, Clewiston, Fla.
5) Keith Williams, Conway, Ark.
6) Mark Rose, Marion, Ark.

Winners of the latest Conseco Fishing Challenge included:

First prize: Jose Rodriguez of New York won a guided fishing trip valued at $3,500.
Second prize: Robert Aldert of Richland Hills, Texas, won a NASCAR Simulator Party for 50 valued at $1,098.
Third prize: Jim Babbitt of Bauxite, Ark., won a Team Conseco die-cast Ranger boat valued at $225.
Fourth prize: David Harsh of Middletown, Ohio, won an A.J. Foyt die-cast Team Conseco car valued at $138.
Fifth prize: Jeff Smith of San Antonio, Texas, won $75 in NASCAR merchandise.
Sixth prize: Kelly Sparrow of Florence, Ky., won $47 in NASCAR merchandise.
