Lefebre lands Eagle Claw Hook Set Award
Voting active for FLW Tour’s Lake Norman event
Veteran bass pro Dave Lefebre was runner-up at the Wal-Mart FLW Tour’s event on Fort Loudoun-Tellico lakes, but fishing fans liked his hook set from that tourney best. Lefebre has racked up four wins in FLW Outdoors competition, an astounding 29 top-10 finishes and over $750,000 in prize money. Now he’s added the Eagle Claw Hook Set Award to his list of accomplishments.
The Union City, Pa., native is currently ranked 24th among all FLW Tour pros in the points standings. Before foundering a bit at the last two tour events, Lefebre started off the season with an impressive seventh-place finish at Lake Travis in February and followed it up with his second-place finish at Loudoun-Tellico at the beginning of April. It was for the latter event that FLWOutdoors.com visitors named him winner of the Eagle Claw Hook Set Award.
Lefebre edged out Mark Davis, who was the winner at Loudoun-Tellico, as well as pro Keith Williams for the Hook Set Award win. Those casting online ballots in the contest handed the Hook Set Award to Lefebre, based on fishing footage that appeared both on the “FLW Outdoors” TV show on FSN (Fox Sports Net) as well as at FLWOutdoors.com. For his impressive hook set, Lefebre earned a $500 Wal-Mart shopping card.
Eagle Claw Hook Set Award voters were able to choose from video footage of three pro anglers’ hook sets as captured by camera crews during the March 29-April 1 FLW Tour event on Fort Loudoun-Tellico lakes near Knoxville, Tenn. FSN provides FLWOutdoors.com with video footage of three of the best hook sets from each FLW Tour event throughout the season. The hook sets are seen on FSN’s “FLW Outdoors” program, which airs Sundays at 11 a.m. Eastern, and are then viewable at FLWOutdoors.com. After voting has closed for a given contest, the winner will be announced on television and through this Web site.
