James Dudley, the father of longtime Walmart FLW Tour pro David Dudley, passed away June 17 after a lengthy illness at age 73. He was a lifetime resident of Lynchburg, Va., and a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. Like his son, James Dudley was also a tournament fisherman and competed in 73 FLW events. He finished in the top 10 in eight of them.
 
The funeral service has been set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, with internment following at Virginia Memorial Park. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to help cover medical expenses. More information on donating to the family can be found on David Dudley's Facebook page.

James Dudley of Lynchburg, Va., topped 199 BFL pro competitors June 7 on the Potomac River with five bass weighing 19 pounds, 5 ounces.
