Even though he’s from southern Louisiana, MLF pro Gerald Spohrer is a skilled smallmouth angler and he’s spent many summers up north, perfecting his smallmouth prowess. Spohrer proved that to be true this week during the General Tire Stage Five Presented by Berkley on the St. Lawrence River. After making the cut with ease, Spohrer won the Stage Five Knockout Round with a single-day total of 35 scorable bass for 130 pounds, 8 ounces. Now, Spohrer has a shot at winning his first MLF trophy and $100,000 during the Stage Five Championship Round.
