As a youngster who spent his formative years in El Salvador, Georgia-based Toyota Series pro Juan Chacon gained his first appreciation for fishing while standing on the banks of a river with his dad. Back then, fishing was as much about community as it was catching a fish or two.

Fast forward to his teenage years, when his first first-ever bass caught in America – a 4-pounder caught with a family friend in Georgia – changed Chacon’s outlook on fishing and eventually sent him on a mission to expand his community. That first bass was the catalyst that drove Chacon to create a YouTube channel – Señor Bass Fishing – with content in Spanish, focused on sharing his passion for bass fishing with Hispanic-speaking anglers. It didn’t’ stop there: Chacon’s outreach now includes popular in-person seminars for beginner Spanish-speaking fishermen (both young and old), which he holds throughout his busy tournament schedule.

In Juan’s Story presented by Toyota, find out how one angler’s inspiration to share his love for bass fishing has translated to an ever-growing community of new anglers.
