You are viewing this Privacy Notice (“Notice”) because you are the parent or legal guardian (“you”) of a child under the age of 13 who would like to become a member of the High School Bass Fishing Tournament (the “Child”).
This Notice explains how we at Major League Fishing collect, use, disclose, retain, and delete personal information collected from or about the Child in connection with the High School Bass Fishing Tournament (the “Tournament”). This Notice is intended to serve as the direct notice required by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and supplements the Major League Fishing Privacy Policy, which is available online here or in print form upon request (collectively, the “Privacy Policy”). The online version of this Notice is posted here. If this Notice conflicts with the Major League Fishing Privacy Policy, this Notice controls for personal information collected from or about children under 13 in connection with the Tournament.
Parent or Guardian Consent Required
Except for the limited purpose of collecting your name and contact information (and, if applicable, the Child’s name and contact information) to provide this Notice and obtain your consent, we will not collect, use, or disclose personal information from or about the Child unless you provide verifiable parental consent. If you do not provide verifiable parental consent, we will not collect, use, or disclose any personal information about the Child, but the Child will not be permitted to participate in the Tournament. We will not condition the Child’s participation on the Child providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for the Tournament.

How We May Share Personal Information
We share personal information with our service providers and vendors to perform services on our behalf to support the uses described in the “HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION” section. These service providers and vendors are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of the personal information and may use it only to perform services on our behalf.
We also share personal information with The Bass Federation (“TBF”), a co-sponsor of the Tournament. TBF is an independent third party that does not provide services on our behalf; this Notice does not apply to TBF’s collection, use, disclosure, storage, or transmission of personal information. We encourage you to review TBF’s privacy policies to understand how TBF may collect, use, disclose, store, or transmit personal information, and the choices you may have with respect to TBF’s privacy practices.
If you consented to have a coach receive personal information, we may also share personal information with that coach for the purposes of team management and Tournament participation. Coaches are an independent third parties who do not provide services on our behalf; this Notice does not apply to any coach’s collection, use, disclosure, storage, or transmission of personal information. We encourage you to discuss the coach’s privacy practices with the coach. We will not disclose personal information to a coach unless you separately consent to that disclosure.
We may publicly post the Child’s first name, last initial, team name, and Tournament results (including leaderboards and standings) on the Tournament website and in printed Tournament materials. Information posted publicly is available to anyone with internet access and may be indexed by search engines. We will not publicly post the Child’s information unless you separately consent to that posting. If you do not consent, the Child’s results will be displayed only by team or anonymized identifier.
We do not otherwise share the Child’s personal information with third parties without your express prior verifiable consent, except: (a) as required by applicable law (such as in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal process); (b) as necessary to protect our legal rights, enforce our agreements, prevent fraud, or protect the safety of any person; or (c) in connection with a corporate transaction (such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets), in which case we will require the recipient to honor the protections in this Notice or obtain new verifiable parental consent.
Parent or Guardian Rights
You may at any time: (a) review the Child’s personal information that we have collected; (b) direct us to delete the Child’s personal information; and (c) refuse to permit any further collection, use, or disclosure of the Child’s personal information. You may also consent to our collection and use of the Child’s personal information without consenting to the disclosure of that information to third parties. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in the “CONTACT US” section below.
Before honoring any request to review, modify, or delete personal information or to refuse further collection or use, we will take reasonable steps to verify that the requestor is the parent or legal guardian who originally consented. We may do so by, for example, comparing the request against the consent record on file, requesting government-issued identification (which we will promptly delete after verification), confirming the request through the contact information you provided when consenting, or using another method that is reasonably calculated to ensure the requestor is the parent or legal guardian.
How We Verify Consent
We obtain your verifiable consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information by having you sign a paper consent form and return it to us by postal mail, by fax, or by electronic scan of the signed paper form. The consent form will identify each disclosure described in the “How We May Share Personal Information” section that requires separate consent and will allow you to consent to, or decline, each such disclosure separately. We will retain a record of the consent we receive for so long as we retain the personal information.
Data Retention
We retain the Child’s personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Notice or as required by law. When the Child’s personal information is no longer needed, we will delete it using reasonable measures to protect against unauthorized access or use.
Data Security
We maintain a written information security program with reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of personal information. The program includes: (i) designation of an employee or employees responsible for coordinating the program; (ii) periodic risk assessments to identify reasonably foreseeable internal and external risks; (iii) safeguards designed to mitigate identified risks; and (iv) periodic evaluation and adjustment of those safeguards. We require service providers and vendors that receive personal information to maintain comparable safeguards by written contract.
