The MLF pros like to make the most of their days off the water during Bass Pro Tour events, and during the Toro Stage One Presented by Power-Pole on Sam Rayburn, four pros spent some time helping out a young Jasper resident who survived a devastating accident.

Kamron Slaydon is a 2018 graduate of Jasper High School who joined the Marine Corps immediately after graduation. In January of 2019, while on leave at home, Kamron was injured in an accidental shooting that damaged his C5 vertebrate resulting in him being a quadriplegic.

MLF pros Brent Chapman, Jeff Sprague, Skeet Reese and James Watson spent a couple of hours at Slaydon’s house on Tuesday to clean up his yard with top-of-the-line Toro equipment. The pros mowed the lawn, did some edging and cleared Slaydon’s ramp of all the clippings. At the end of the spring clean-up, the pros gave Slaydon a jersey signed by all of the Bass Pro Tour anglers.

Slaydon is working to raise money for his medical and travel expenses in an effort to regain his independence. There is an upcoming fundraiser Benefit Skeet Shoot, Crawfish Boil and Auction scheduled for March 27.
