Keys to Chris Lane’s Stage One Victory on the Kissimmee Chain

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Mercury Pro Team member Chris Lane may still be trying to wrap his head around the fact that he’s a Bass Pro Tour champion. While Hall of Famer Mark Davis went into the Championship Round with a cushy 10-pound lead over second, Lane started the day in third place, knowing that anything could happen on the famed Kissimmee Chain.

It all came down to the final 90 seconds at the B&W Trailer Hitches Stage One Presented by Grundéns. Lane needed to land at least a 4-pound, 12-ounce bass to upgrade his five-fish limit for the day. He landed a 5-pounder, but had no idea that it’d be enough to put him in first place as the clock ran out of time.
