Malone was raised in Louisiana, but has called Gatlinburg, Tenn., home for the last ten years where he runs his commercial restaurant equipment repair company. Malone has competed on the EverStart circuit, and 2014 will mark Malone’s second season at the sport’s top level – the Walmart FLW Tour. In preparation for the 2014 Tournament Season, Malone plans to take on a new approach to competitive fishing. In addition to maintaining and preparing his fishing tackle and equipment, Malone is putting more emphasis on being more physically fit in order to be more mentally focused throughout the tournament season. In late August, Malone began working with a personal trainer- Charlie Burgess – former NY Giants football player. In conjunction without a consistent workout routine Malone also started a supplement program from Complete Nutrition. After losing 30 pounds and an improved physique, Malone will continue the journey towards a successful tournament season, better health and reaching his goals on and off the water.
