PALM BAY, Fla. – A series of six catches in the final half-hour gave David Dudley the boost he needed to best Stephen Browning for the No. 1 position during Elimination Round 2 of the 2022 Wiley X Summit Cup Presented by B&W Trailer Hitches. Dudley finished the day with 21 bass weighing 33 pounds, 3 ounces – a mere 4-2 ahead of Browning.
A variety of baits were the key to Dudley’s success as he focused on the mid-section of the main lake where he targeted vegetation below water. A Wacky Neko Rig was the bait of choice for the first half of the day with one catch coming with a worm, but by mid-afternoon a transition to a drop shot provided seven out of the final eight catches of the day.
