MossBack Fish Habitat and Major League Fishing Team Up for North Carolina Habitat Restoration Event at Lake Mackintosh

WHAT: MossBack Fish Habitat has partnered with the Major League Fishing (MLF) Fisheries Management Division for a habitat restoration project on Lake Mackintosh. With assistance from the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, MLF pro and MossBack pro staffer Greg Vinson will team up with local high school anglers from the area to construct the MossBack fish habitat and then place the structures in a few different locations in Lake Mackintosh. Vinson and two of the high school anglers will return to fish the structures later in the week to show how quickly bass in the lake adapt to the new structure.

WHEN: Saturday, April 10, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. ET

– 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Media Interviews. Students finishing building MossBack habitat structures with Greg Vinson and prepping to place structures in the lake.

– 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – High School Anglers accompanied by Greg Vinson to place structure at various locations

WHERE: Lake Mackintosh Park & Marina, 2704 Huffman Mill Road, Burlington, NC  27215

NOTES: Media opportunities include photos and interviews with MLF pro Greg Vinson, MossBack Fish Habitat President David King, Mark Fowles with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources CommissionMLF Executive Michael Mulone and the High School Fishing anglers.

High School Fishing anglers from Freedom High School (Morganton), the Uwharrie Charter Academy (Asheboro) and the Long Creek Anglers bass club (Durham) will be participating.  

MLF’s COVID-19 Protocols must be followed: Masks are required, anglers will work in small groups and maintain a distance of 6 feet when possible.
