Brian Latimer’s first win on the FLW Tour at Lake Seminole did more than put a trophy on his mantle and $100,000 in his pocket. It also validated the unwavering support of his sponsors and those he represents, including Visit Anderson and Anderson County (S.C.).

Latimer represents Green Pond Landing and Event Center (on Lake Hartwell) with logos on his boat and jersey, and, with Hartwell serving as Latimer’s home lake, he’s being honored with a press conference on April 22 at Green Pond Landing to celebrate his recent success.

The press conference, which starts at 11 a.m. ET and includes photo and interview opportunities, will also recognize and feature Bassmaster Elite Series pro Brandon Cobb, who notched his first Elite Series win in early April on Hartwell.

“We couldn’t be more proud of these two young men,” says Visit Anderson Executive Director Neil Paul. “They are outstanding anglers and professionals in their own right, but I wouldn’t trade the relationships and friendships that we have developed since we began working together. Brian and Brandon are tremendous anglers but even better people. I have often said, that the County and CVB took a chance on them when we decided to sponsor them on their professional journey, but more so they took a chance on us. It is a very unique and untapped partnership opportunity across the fishing industry. I was a young and naïve director at the time; but to the credit of these two young men, they saw a very supportive fishing community in Anderson County, a world-class facility in Green Pond Landing and a championship fishery in Lake Hartwell and they have been great representatives of what we’re trying to do here ever since.”

The press conference will give fans and local media an opportunity to meet Latimer and Cobb and get a good look at their boats, jerseys and recently earned first-place trophies. Per Paul’s media release, representatives of Anderson County and Visit Anderson will also take time to talk about their partnership with Latimer and Cobb and share additional information regarding recent and future events around Hartwell.
