Day one of the Costa FLW Series event presented by T-H Marine on Lake Seminole has been canceled due to strong winds. Originally scheduled to start today (Thursday, March 1), the event is the second stop in the Southeastern Division.

There are sustained southwest winds at 20 mph with 30-mph gusts in the forecast. Additionally, the water level on Seminole is about 6 inches higher than normal, making it more difficult to see the already-hazardous stumps. After monitoring the forecast for much of practice, the decision was made early Thursday morning.

The tournament will resume Friday and Saturday with the full field fishing each day. The pro and co-angler winners will be determined by the cumulative weight of two days of competition instead of three.

Anglers will take off from the Bainbridge Earle May Boat Basin, located at 100 Boat Basin Circle, in Bainbridge, Ga., at 7 a.m. ET both days of competition. Weigh-ins will be held at the Boat Basin on Friday and Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.
