Taking the co-angler win in the Toyota Series Northern Division event on the Detroit River, Tony Grubb weighed four bass for 14 pounds, 1 ounce on the final day for a 46-5 total. For the win, his second as a co-angler with FLW, Grubb takes home a new Phoenix 518 Pro bass boat worth over $35,000.

“I was weak in the knees, it’s awesome,” says Grubb of the win. “It’s awesome, my family is here, and this is my hometown and I love to catch these smallmouth.”

This week, Grubb did his damage with a drop-shot rig and a red rig. On the drop-shot, Grubb went with either an Arkansas shiner-colored Strike King Baby Z-Too or a Poor Boy’s Erie Darter.

On day three, Grubb fished behind Scott Dobson, who won the tournament and ran up to St. Clair mid-morning. Though Grubb had no fish when Dobson left the river, he caught four big ones to close it out in St. Clair.
