GROVE, Okla. – One of the hottest co-anglers in the game, Jason Sandidge earned yet another big win. This time, the 2022 Toyota Series Championship winner pulled out the victory in the Toyota Series Presented by Phoenix Boats Plains Division event on Grand Lake.
“I didn’t think I had it won,” said Sandidge. “There were three or four people in front of me. The bag line only had about half the people there. So, I knew it was going to be close. I knew I had at least 21 pounds. I just didn’t know what everyone else had.”
In the end, the Centerton, Arkansas angler amassed 22 pounds, 2 ounces after three days of incredibly challenging competition on Grand Lake, enough to wind by a margin of 2-4.
“I was just nervous, I didn’t realize Jeff Moss had zero and Alan Bernicky’s limit was not that big,” he said. “I was the last one to weigh in and it was like ‘Holy crap I might have pulled this off.’”
Sandidge has been a hot hand over the last several months, and he’s continued that trend in 2023, claiming another title and Phoenix boat prize package worth $34,750.
“I’m still not believing this. I just won the Toyota Series Championship back in November,” said Sandidge. “I just never gave up today. Out of the 1,400 casts I made today, it was two keepers in the last hour that sealed the deal. I kept my head in it and just worried about not losing focus, ever.”
