To say the race was tight would be an understatement as the top three anglers finished within less than a half-pound of each other and a single decently-sized fish could mean the difference between eighth place and first.

Bryan Thrift finished the day atop SCORETRACKER® with 12 bass weighing 23 pounds, 13 ounces. Ish Monroe was close behind with eight bass weighing 23 pounds, 7 ounces; and hot on Monroe’s heels was Chris Lane with 10 bass weighing 23 pounds, 6 ounces.

Thrift, Monroe, Lane, and the rest of Group B, will return to Watts Bar Lake on Tuesday for their Qualifying Day 2. Meanwhile, the action will continue on Monday for Group A’s Qualifying Day 2.
