Anthony Gagliardi entered Lake Murray in fifth place and emerged a champion, largely thanks to the 8-pounder he posted at noon. He went on to finish the day with 26-13 for a two-day total of 47-12, more than 4 pounts ahead of second-place angler Ott DeFoe.
