Randy Howell Recaps His Two-Time Record-Breaking Week

February 17, 2022 • Bass Pro Tour

MONROE-WEST MONROE, La. – When the fishing is tough, there’s nothing like a giant, double-digit bass to turn your day around. That’s exactly what happened to Alabama pro Randy Howell during the B&W Trailer Hitches Stage One Presented by Power-Pole, not once, but two days in a row.

During the Stage One Knockout Round, Howell broke the Bass Pro Tour big-bass record by catching a 10-pound, 11-ounce largemouth on Caney Creek Reservoir. Thinking that was going to be the highlight of his week, Howell was struggling to get a bite during the Championship Round on Bussey Brake. But in the third period, Howell broke his own brand-new big-bass record with a 12-14.
