When the fishing is tough, just one good bite can make a huge difference. That was exactly the case during Qualifying Day 2 of the Favorite Fishing Stage Two Presented by Bass Cat. However, a handful of anglers in Group B were able to locate 6-pounders, which puts them in good shape to make the cut when they’re back on the water on Monday for Qualifying Day 4.

Andy Montgomery is in third place with 17 pounds, 2 ounces. He only caught four fish, but his first one was a 6-06 and his last fish was a 5-14. Now he has a shot at winning Qualifying Day 4 and moving straight to the Championship Round.

Anthony Gagliardi also admitted that the fishing was slow today, but he started the day by catching a 6-09 and ended the day in fifth place. He landed three bass for a total of 12-08.

Scott Suggs landed the biggest bass of the day, a 6-11. It was also the only scorable bass he caught all day, but it was enough to move him up to 13th place. If he can stay above 20th place on Monday, he’ll move onto the Knockout Round.

We spoke to all three pros when they came off Lake Okeechobee to hear their big fish stories.
