GALLERY: Justin Lucas’ Record-Setting Day on Sturgeon Bay

STURGEON BAY, Wis. – Berkley pro Justin Lucas broke Jacob Wheeler’s previous single-round weight record of 129 pounds, 10 ounces with a knockout: 141-9 on 50 fish. After a flurry of smallmouth in the morning, Lucas had 78-12 on SCORETRACKER® by the end of Period 1, breaking Wheeler’s previous single-period weight record of 55-9. While Scott Suggs dogged Lucas for the majority of the day, the Alabama pro maintained his lead and added 12 pounds to the record by the end of the day.
