I have been an avid fisherman since growing up with Lake St Clair at the end of my street. My first job was at a local bait shop where I was was employed from age 12 until age 20 when I had to focus on a full time career. I have always been a fishing fanatic. From bass, walleye, pike, steelhead and salmon…trolling, casting, ice fishing to fly fishing…you name it, I’ve done it. I was lucky enough to be able to do all that while in my teens through resources at the bait shop. I’ve always been a boat owner and water dog. My son and I have been fishing partners since he could hold a rod. I’d watch for his name in the future! My son is now at the age that him and I can competitively fish. at the beginning of 2016 I purchased a brand new all around fishing boat and we had a blast. I also started competing in the Cash For Bass team tournaments with my long time friend and fishing buddy. We did pretty well while competing against some well outfitted anglers. We fish under the team name of FT Hawg Hunters. We have many alike sponsors and furthered that with team jerseys including one for my son as he subs for some tournaments. Throughout the year I put a lot of effort building a good tournament angler base. I am currently sponsored by 10 fishing industry companies and one locally owned tooling shop. My industry sponsors are Ardent Reels, McCain Fishing, X Zone Lures, Skoll Gear, Stanley Jigs/Hale Lures, Liquid Mayhem, Dobyns Rods, Smartbaits Fishing Lures, Rapala USA, Hydrowave and TH Marine. After a few frustrating tournaments last year when we just couldn’t compete in adverse weather conditions using our inferior boats on the big water of the great lakes I decided to purchase a 2016 Ranger 620FS. This year I have high expectations after getting my first year under my belt and fishing Regionals are Barren River/Lake. The FLW-BFL will be part of a very exciting 2018 for my teammate, son and myself. I will continue to compete in local team opens/series as well as coach the Costa Bassmaster High School team Macomb Cougars/Eastside Elites. Hopefully growing to a community team.
