After a 13 year career with the Carbondale Fire Department in which Morgenthaler had moved up to the rank of Captain, Chad decided to go for it and left the fire department to pursue his dream of fishing professionally. Growing up in a small town in rural Southern Illinois Chad did not have an opportunity to fish on the larger lakes and major river systems. He cut his teeth on local ponds and strip pits close to home. He says he has learned a tremendous amount about the sport over his career on the water, but feels there is still much to learn. Morgenthaler is known for always keeping a positive attitude and is receptive to any opportunity to help the sport grow. When not on the water, you can find Morgenthaler spending time with his family and friends and in the fall in a tree bow hunting for whitetail deer.
