GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. – A fast and furious morning run gave way to a steady stream of solid catches that added up to a third Bass Pro Tour trophy for Drew Gill during the Championship Round of B&W Trailer Hitches Stage 1 Presented by Mercury. The Illinois angler took a commanding lead during Period 1 that was seemingly untouchable. By Period 2 he was still solidly ahead of the other nine pros on Lake Guntersville, but that lead shrank into a nail-biter of an ending in Period 3 as Gill won by a margin of less than 2 pounds with 82 pounds, 4 ounces on 28 scorable bass.
Following his suspenseful Stage 1 victory, Gill and the rest of the Top 10 anglers hit the Post Game Show’s stage to discuss the Championship Round experience and celebrate Gill’s victory with family, friends, and fans.
