Mark Daniels Jr. had a rebound on Qualifying Day 2 after finishing second on Qualifying Day 1. On Feb. 5, Stephen Browning scored six bass for 21 pounds, 2 ounces, leading Daniels by 3-4.
It was a different story on Feb. 7. Daniels turned it around on Qualifying Day 2 with eight bass weighing 15-07 for a two-day total of 16 bass weighing 33-05, nearly 10 pounds ahead of the No. 2 angler, Edwin Evers.
Daniels will advance to the Championship Round and a shot at a grand prize worth more than $100,000.
