Being away from the comforts of home for nine months a year is part of the sacrifice of being a tour-level bass angler. Or is it? Arizona-based Bass Pro Tour pro Brett Hite kicks back in the dinette of his double-slide Lance 1172 Truck Camper, looks around the roomy reaches of his home away from home, spreads his arms wide as if to say “look at this!” and says otherwise.
“This IS the comforts of home,” Hite says. “We have a full kitchen, TV, satellite, bathroom, shower, couch, queen-size bed, storage – we have everything we need right here. People see all this room and can’t hardly believe that this is a truck camper. I love camping, been doing it a long time. It’s the only way to fly.”
Take a tour of Hite’s bass-fishing crib for a look into how the longtime Mercury pro brings the comforts of home with him wherever the MLF schedule may take him.
