Boater Bill Humbard of New Market, Tennessee, brought a two-day total of 10 bass to the scale weighing 24 pounds, 4 ounces to win the Phoenix Bass Fishing League presented by T-H Marine Mountain Division Super-Tournament at Lake Cherokee. For his victory, Humbard earned $6,230.

“I’ve been blessed to win the Mountain Division prior to this event and it’s always humbling that the good Lord has blessed me to go and do what I enjoy in life,” said Humbard. “I fished a Carolina rig with a chartreuse pumpkin-colored Zoom Lizard on day one and on day two I used a Gene Larew Rattln’ Crawler at 25 to 30 feet deep.”

Humbard said his key was staying deep and running a lot of water.
