Leader Jake Lawrence wasted no time keeping the pressure on the nine guys who are chasing him on this final day of the Costa FLW Series tournament on Lake Barkley which is presented by T-H Marine.

Lawrence's leading pattern

Complete results

Lawrence again opened the day with an 80-mile run to the upper end of Kentucky Lake to the same patch of water that has surrendered the lion’s share of his 52-pound 9-ounce two-day total.

The magic was still there. He landed his first fish at 6:55. Lost one at 6:58. Added his second at 7:01, a third at 7:07 and was culling fish by 7:40. Maybe 15-16 pounds total; not the monster-sized sack of day one (28-15) or day two (23-10), but likely enough to put the tournament away. Co-angler leader Mark Howard, who is sharing a boat with Lawrence, had one fish when we left.

Starting the day in second, Garrett Paquette boxed four small ones early. Brandon Hunter began in third place and also had four early, with one decent one.

Cody Harrison, who started the day in fourth place at 41-13, also made the long run to Paris, Tenn. By mid-morning he had one fish in the boat but had missed four.

Marcus Sykora started in sixth place at 39-6 and was culling fish by mid-morning. In Barkley, Ramie Colson Jr. and Andy Morgan had boated three fish each by about 10:30.

After Lawrence filled his limit he played run and gun for a couple of hours before returning to his early morning honey hole. At 10:00, he was still looking for a kicker fish but seemed to be feeling pretty good about the 2 p.m. weigh in.
