MONROE-WEST MONROE, La. – A record-breaking morning set the pace for the Knockout Round of the Bass Pro Tour’s first event of the 2022 season, B&W Trailer Hitches Stage One Presented by Power-Pole on Caney Creek Reservoir.

Randy Howell started the day by setting a new Bass Pro Tour record with a bass weighing 10 pounds, 11 ounces. Soon after that, Jacob Wheeler caught nearly 30 pounds of bass in the second period. Wheeler’s second-period surge launched him from sixth to first on SCORETRACKER® and he ended up winning the Knockout Round with nine bass weighing 43 pounds, 7 ounces. The closest any angler has come to Wheeler’s haul is Jordan Lee with four bass for 43-10.

Tune in to MLF NOW! on Thursday to watch the Stage One Championship Round on MajorLeagueFishing.com, the MLF mobile app or MyOutdoorTV.com.
