BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Persistence paid off for Dustin Connell as a relatively slow morning gave way to a gold rush lunch hour on Lay Lake during the Championship Round of Bass Pro Shops REDCREST Powered by OPTIMA Lithium. Halfway through the day he’d already surpassed the total it took to win the Knockout Round and established a massive lead over the other nine anglers.
