GROVE, Okla. – The first day of practice for REDCREST 2022 Presented by Costa started off with a nip in the air – temperatures at takeoff hovered in the low 40s – but it wasn’t long before Mercury Pro Team angler Ott DeFoe was winding in a handful of scorable bass as he worked his way around Grand Lake. DeFoe is an angler to watch as conditions trend toward a shallow cranking bite.

MLF photographer Phoenix Moore jumped on DeFoe’s Nitro/Mercury rig for a spin around Grand, here’s a look at how the morning went.
