EARLY, Texas – Jacob Wheeler can attest that winning never gets old. Wheeler secured Bass Pro Tour win No. 11 at Suzuki Marine Stage 4 Presented by Plano in wire-to-wire fashion. After winning the Qualifying Round on Lake O.H. Ivie, Wheeler got to skip the Knockout Round on Lake Brownwood. Despite not getting a feel for the fishery on Saturday, he stacked up 42 pounds, 13 ounces on 12 scorable bass on Championship Sunday to top runner-up Justin Lucas by more than 10 pounds.
Surrounded by fans at the Cigar International Champions Toast, Wheeler hoisted yet another BPT trophy and $125,000 check. He also took the lead in the Fishing Clash Angler of the Year race for good measure.
