KISSIMMEE, Fla. – No matter where, no matter when, as long as Jordan Lee has a line in the water he’s never out of any event.

“I know a lot of the guys are going to be pretty mad at me,” Lee joked.

With only 15 minutes left in the Elimination Round of the MLF Bass Pro Tour B&W Trailer Hitches Stage One, Lee needed more than 8 pounds to make it to the elimination line. Looking to make a run, Lee pulled up to an area he hadn’t touched all day which proved to be the difference.

He reeled one in that weighed 4 pounds, 5 ounces to get the run started that he followed with a 1-8 with only 10 minutes left in the round.

“It was just bam, bam,” Lee explained. “I was just trying to make something happen. I had a super tough day, only caught one fish in the first two periods. Luckily I got bit, then I got another bite, and another bite.”

That final bite, a 2-12 that hit SCORETRACKER with only one minute left on the clock, shooting Lee up from 25th to the final spot in the Top 20. He edged out Greg Vinson by two ounces to move on to Saturday’s Knockout Round. Lee’s mood when his MLF Official called lines out: Relieved.

“I was just laying on the front deck of the boat,” Lee recapped. “Rods were literally thrown everywhere, everything was tangled, there was grass all over my boat and my heart was beating so fast. I haven’t felt like that in a while.”

Some people are referring to the Alabama native as the “Comeback Kid”, thanks to his flair for the dramatic as time winds down. Lee doesn’t mind the nickname, although he would prefer to not need a comeback every once in a while.

“I push it way too long and too late sometimes,” Lee said with a chuckle. “I wish I could get it over with in the first hour but that’s not me. I have to grind for it and claw for it all day long. But that’s what gets me out of bed in the morning, that kind of moment. I’ll be thinking about this for a while.”

The first 20 spots in the Knockout Round are filled with the other 20 up for grabs during Group B’s Elimination Round on Friday. Catch the action on the MLF NOW! live stream starting at 10 a.m. ET exclusively on MajorLeagueFishing.com.
