Lefebre Downsizes His Camper Life

There aren’t many popular bass-fishing destinations in this country that MLF angler Dave Lefebre hasn’t been to. The Pennsylvania pro has spent his 15-plus-year career crisscrossing the country, competing in MLF and FLW tournaments.

When the fishing day is done and Lefebre is ready to call it a night, he prefers the comfort of a camper rather than a hotel or motel room.

“I started traveling with a camper about 17 years ago with my wife and kids,” Lefebre recalled. “As the kids got older and started school, they stopped traveling with me, so I didn’t use the camper as much. Now, in the past year, I’ve put it back on my truck and it’s been awesome to have it back.”

Since the family doesn’t travel with him as much anymore, Lefebre has downsized his camper to accommodate just him. A Phoenix Pop Up Camper serves as his “home away from home” while also allowing him to tow his boat.

“This camper isn’t as big as the one that I used to tow around back in the day, that’s for sure” Lefebre explained. “Still, it’s a great size for one person and I don’t ever feel too crowded in there. It still has all the amenities you could want, just in a smaller size. It’s nice to be able to live in my own space on the road.”

With both a camper on board and a boat in tow during his tournament travels, Lefebre has paid closer attention to the quality of his brakes.

“I get a new truck every year, and the brakes are just something that I never used to even think of,” Lefebre admitted. “I used to think the factory brakes were just good enough to get me by. But when your entire life is on the back of your truck and being hauled behind you, that’s when PowerStop brakes and their quality become so important.”

Lefebre puts tens of thousands of miles on his truck every season going from tournament to tournament. He says the reliability of PowerStop brakes gives him the confidence to make those long trips multiple times a year.

“Living in Pennsylvania, I’m further away from each of our tournaments than a majority of the guys,” Lefebre said. “On those long drives, I’m driving through big cities like Chicago where it’s constantly stop-and-go traffic. That’s when I notice the importance of good brakes the most. Stopping that rig with that much weight on it that quickly is a night-and-day difference compared to my old brakes.”

After years of using regular factory brakes on his rig, Lefebre says that he doesn’t have any plans of ever switching back from PowerStop brakes.

“I highly recommend using these brakes, whether you’re towing something or not,” Lefebre said. “These are the best brakes I’ve ever used and I know you’ll love them as well. You don’t know what good brakes feel like until you put on PowerStop Brakes.”
