Michael Neal Wins Big Bass by an Ounce Over Jordan Lee

June 11, 2020 • Bass Pro Tour

When the Knockout Round for the Toyota Heavy Hitters Presented by Venmo was coming to a close, it looked like Jordan Lee had it made. Not only was Lee high on SCORETRACKER® and moving on to the Championship Round, he also had the biggest bass of the day: an 8-pound, 14-ounce largemouth. And in this big bass event, the big-fish reward during the Knockout Round is $50,000.

But Michael Neal, who was having a very slow day on the Kissimmee Chain, beat Lee’s big bass by a single ounce. With less than 20 minutes left in Period 3, he landed an 8-15. Even though he didn’t catch enough bass to move on, he’s happy to take home an extra $50,000.
