Shin Fukae Qualifies for Stage One Knockout Round on Sam Rayburn

March 24, 2021 • Bass Pro Tour

At the start of Group B’s Qualifying Day 2, Shin Fukae knew he had some work to do on Sam Rayburn Reservoir. With just 10 pounds on SCORETRACKER®, Fukae was below the 20th-place Toro Cut Line in 22nd place.

While many of the 40 pros in Group B had a tough time boating scorable bass, Fukae stood out of the crowd and added a total of 33-13 to his Day 1 weight, which is more than any of his competitors caught on Wednesday. While Fukae wasn’t able to win the Qualifying Round and advance to the Championship Round, he qualified for Thursday’s Knockout Round. A total of 38 MLF pros will compete in the Knockout Round of the Toro Stage One Presented by Power-Pole, and the top eight will advance to the Championship Round.
