BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second time in four years, Mercury pro Dustin Connell lifted the biggest prize in bass fishing over his head and celebrated another $300,000 victory at Bass Pro Shops REDCREST Powered by OPTIMA Lithium on Lay Lake. Connell, who enjoyed his second REDCREST win in front of countless fans, friends, and family, threw history out the window – and made MLF history in the process – by fishing his home fishery of Lay Lake like it was any other competition venue. In the end, he trounced the rest of the final field of 10 with an 83-pound final day that outpaced second by more than 30 pounds.
