MLF High School Fishing Presented by Favorite Fishing offers high school anglers with scholarship and advancement opportunities to compete in the 2021 Toyota Series Championship. The top 10 percent of teams in each High School Fishing tournament will advance to the High School Fishing National Championship, featuring national television coverage on the Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network.

  • Your $25 membership includes both MLF and TBF membership for eligibility to fish any Student Angler Federation tournament, including MLF High School Fishing Opens presented by Favorite Fishing, TBF State Championships and TBF Challenge tournaments, a digital subscription to MLF Bass Fishing magazine and no entry fees.
  • Every angler receives a profile on FLWFishing.com to track tournament stats.
  • Live weigh-in coverage of every tournament.
  • National television coverage of the High School Fishing National Championship on the Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network. 
  • Phoenix Bass Fishing League, Toyota Series and Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit Marshal eligibility.*
  • * Students must be at least 16 years of age as of the date of the event to claim this benefit or award.

High School Fishing National Championship and World Finals

  • Both members of the winning team at the 2021 High School Fishing National Championship receive a $5,000 scholarship to the school of their choice.
  • Both members of the winning team at the 2021 High School Fishing National Championship advance to the 2021 Toyota Series Championship to compete as co-anglers.*
    • National television coverage of the Toyota Series Championship featuring anglers from 11 countries on the Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network.
  • The top 10 percent of teams in each tournament advance to the High School Fishing National Championship. Tournaments held on or before June 13, 2021, advance teams to the 2021 National Championship. Tournaments held after June 13, 2021, advance teams to the 2022 National Championship. 
  • All participating teams automatically qualify for the High School Fishing World Finals to compete for more than $3 million in scholarships and prizes.

Each tournament is held on a Saturday following an Abu Garcia College Fishing presented by YETI tournament so students and parents can network with prospective college teams and coaches during college weigh-ins. California tournaments are held on Sundays.

Contingency Programs

WILEY X MLF REWARDS:

Wiley X awards a pair of Wiley X sunglasses to each member of the highest-finishing team that meets Wiley X MLF Rewards contingency requirements in each High School Fishing presented by Favorite Fishing tournament.

Requirements: The Wiley X logo must be visible on the front of your jersey or Wiley X branded clothing, hat and/or visor. Wiley X branded sunglasses must be worn on stage (on your face, around your neck or on your hat). The Wiley X logo must be displayed on your tow vehicle and/or boat. You must verify participation in the Wiley X MLF Rewards program at registration for each tournament by showing MLF staff the Wiley X logo on your jersey, Wiley X branded clothing, hat and/or visor.

EPIC REWARDS:

Epic Baits awards two $25 tackle packs ($50 total) to the winning team in each High School Fishing presented by Favorite Fishing Open and two $50 tackle packs ($100 total) to the winning team at the National Championship if they meet Epic Baits contingency requirements.

Requirements: The Epic Baits logo must be visible on the front each angler’s jersey, hat and/or visor. The team must verify participation in the Epic Baits Rewards program at registration for each tournament by showing MLF staff the Epic Baits logo on both anglers’ jerseys, hats and/or visors. It is the responsibility of each team to let MLF staff know they are participating in the Epic Baits Rewards program prior to the start of competition.
