BROOKELAND, Texas – Bags over 30 pounds don’t come around too often, so you need to celebrate them when they do. Taking the lead in a big way on Day 2 of Stop 1 Presented by Power-Pole MOVE on Sam Rayburn Reservoir, Marshall Hughes crushed 38 pounds, 7 ounces on the day. Catching most of the weight in under an hour, an 11-pounder on the high end and a 5-pounder as his “small” fish rocketed the Texas pro into the lead of his first Tackle Warehouse Invitationals event.

Hughes’ bag is a record for the fledgling Invitationals circuit and the fourth-biggest ever on Sam Rayburn in MLF competition. It doesn’t quite crack the Top 10 MLF bags of all-time, though – 10th in that case belongs to Terry Bolton with 38-15 that he caught in 2008 on Falcon Lake.

Here’s a look at the fish as they crossed the stage and plenty of photos from an epic bag.
